Behind the Scenes: Mercy Center for Women

"When the video was shown to an audience of over 300 at the Women Making History 2011 program, there was an audible reaction all across the auditorium at the end of the video. Not just applause, but an emotional response that let us know our women hit them right in the heart."

At Mercy Center for Women, we are all about empowering women. We can talk all day about our mission of enhancing the dignity of each person we serve through the healing of body, mind and spirit, but the old adage holds true – a picture is worth a thousand words. It was time to produce a new video and let our clients tell their own stories of struggle and triumph.

We selected women who had completed the program and were out on their own, working, going to school, living their lives. Each of them had a similar story of how they fell to the depths of despair, and how they found hope and help through Mercy Center for Women. Their stories are real – no one could make up a more compelling story than the ones told by Janine, Donna and Eileen.

As the video has been shared with individuals, small groups and large audiences, the reaction is the same. One viewer, a marketing professional, was left in tears at Eileen’s story of her child eating dry stuffing mix while her mom was out partying. When the video was shown to an audience of over 300 at the Women Making History 2011 program, there was an audible reaction all across the auditorium at the end of the video. Not just applause, but an emotional response that let us know our women hit them right in the heart.

We love the way Greg was able to intertwine the various elements of our logo throughout the
story, and weave the whole piece together, ending with success, gratitude and hope.
